External Competitions Secretary

I bought my first DSLR camera in 2014. After bringing my son up I needed something to fill my time and discovered I had a real passion for photography. I took an evening class in photography, joined the local camera club and was hooked. I love taking photos of things that don't move and use it as an excuse to discover the world.  I started with a basic Nikon DSLR, but quickly moved to Sony mirrorless, which I have used ever since. I currently have a Sony A7RII.  My main interests are architecture, landscapes and waterscapes. I do love a long exposure as I like my photos to give a sense of calm.

I lived in Hertfordshire and was a committee member of my local club. I obtained my Licenciate distinction from the Royal Photographic Society in 2019.

In 2022 I moved to Devon and after looking at several clubs around the area I decided on Sidmouth as the one to join. Its a decision I haven’t regretted - the club has a great culture, there are lots of extra activities as well as the regular Wednesday meetings and is very welcoming to new members.
