Looking back, my interest and journey into the world of photography was inspired by my grandfather. He introduced me to the art of taking and developing pictures in the early 60's, I am sure you can imagine the sense of wonder watching him in his darkroom mixing chemicals and bringing pictures to life. He was my guide into the fascinating realm of picture making for many years. Â
Over time I have experimented with different styles of photography. My desire now is to create simple images that you can weave stories around, using minimalistic, street, seascapes and lifestyle photography as my backdrop. I started my photographic life with a simple Kodak Brownie box camera and eventually settled on Nikon as my preferred camera maker. I work in both colour and black and white, but certainly for prints I prefer monochrome. I am also getting quite enthusiastic about mobile phone photography
I belonged to a photographic club in Kent where I lived before moving to Devon three years ago and joining Sidmouth Photographic Club. There is no greater pleasure and motivation than being with a group of enthusiastic photographers - our styles and approaches to image making may vary, but we hold in common a love for photography.
