What We Do
Our club offers a range of activities and events to help members develop their skills and interests. We invite you to explore our programme, to browse members' galleries and view a selection of competition award winners and to join us at our next meeting to see first-hand what we're all about.
General Overview of Programme:
-
Monthly speaker evenings on a wide range of topics from different genres to finding inspiration and processing images
-
Monthly competitions for prints, digitally projected images and mobile projected images
-
Monthly practical evenings with a variety of workshops on anything from how to use your camera to photo walks
-
External Competitions - we take part in a number of external photography 'Battles' with other local clubs
-
Audio Visual Evenings - exploring a different way to display or tell stories with our images
-
Special Interest Groups. We have five special interest groups (SIGs); an Outdoor SIG for lovers of landscape and wildlife photography, Critique SIG where small groups of members meet to review each other’s images, a Distinctions Group to help those wishing to gain recognition from the RPS, Creative Imaging SIG for learning fun and experimental photography techniques and a Printing Group for sharing knowledge on that subject. These help our members focus on their particular areas of interest - more detail about our SIGs can be found here
-
Social Events including formal dinners, casual summer pub meet ups and photography walks and trips
-
Summer Programme - we have an extensive programme throughout the summer, organised by our members which include trips, walks and social events
